On September 16, the International Broadcasting Convention (IBC) for broadcasting and television communication equipment, which was held in Amsterdam, Netherlands , had successfully concluded. The exhibition brought together broadcast technology suppliers from around the globe to showcase latest broadcasting technologies and media convergence solutions.
Science Image, a seasoned technology vendor in audio-visual media production, collaborated with 3D Storm to exhibit a range of products, including Vela Rack SDI, Studio Edge, and Flow Edge. These products, with their exceptional performance and versatility, garnered significant attention and interest from visitors.
Star Products Light Up the Scene
Studio Edge, a rack-mounted codec, supports up to 6 channels operating simultaneously, with each channel featuring FULL NDI encoding/decoding, SDI/HDMI up/down conversion, optical transmission, and audio embedding. And the FULL NDI encoding, SDI/HDMI up/down conversion, optical transmission, and audio embedding functions of each channel can all operate simultaneously.

With its multifunctional advantages, Studio Edge is compatible with any device in the Science Image family. Whether it’s the studio, broadcasting van, equipment room, or control console, Studio Edge can handle it all with ease. It offers professional and flexible solutions for various applications.
New Product Launch Garners Attention
The exhibition also introduced Science Image’s upcoming product——Vela Rack SDI multi-functional recorder.
Vela Rack SDI supports multiple protocols including RTMP/RTSP/SRT/Full NDI/HX2/HX3, enabling simultaneous NDI encoding/decoding and recording, while saving high-quality videos to SSD. As for the SRT/RTSP/RTMP streams being pushed, users can flexibly configure internal or external servers for live streaming.
Moreover, with its optical transmission capability of transmitting NDI and SRT/RTSP/RTMP streams via optical fiber, Vela significantly enhances transmission efficiency and stability. Its 3.4-inch TFT touchscreen offers real-time monitoring, parameter settings and firmware upgrades.
In audio processing, Vela Rack SDI supports audio embedding and de-embedding to meet professional audio needs. Vela Rack SDI also integrates UVC functionality, vastly expands its application scenarios, particularly in conference live streaming, remote collaboration and online education, provides users with more efficient and convenient solutions.
