DC 12V Input
Power on FLOW 2 with SCIENCE IMAGE 12V power supply.
Please always use genuine SCIENCEIMAGE power adapters, third party products may cause permanent damage!
POE Power over Ethernet (802.3at)
Power is supplied to the device by connecting a POE(Power over Ethernet) Gigabit / 10 Gigabit network switch.
Always use a certified 802.3at with a port power capacity of at least 25W and a Gigabit network switch.
Note: For FLOW 2, both DC input and POE power supply modes are available. When it starts up, the characters ‘ScienceImage Tech’ appear on the OLED screen, and the power lights on the right bottom of FLOW 2.
03 OLED Display and Scroll Wheel Button
OLED Display
Note: It takes about 30 seconds from power up to normal operation. Please be patient.
The 1st line:
4K Converter / Optical Transmit / Optical ReceiverDisplay the device name and the Optical Transceiver status. The device name and device status(Optical Receiver or Optical Transmit) are displayed alternately.
The 2nd line:
Primary HDMI / SDI Selection
Show SDI or HDMI input priority.
The 3rd line:
IN: 1080i50 / CH: SDI-Y HDMI-N
Display the input video format (when FLOW 2 is in Optical Receiver, the line shows format of the optical input); Show whether SDI and HDMI inputs are recognized, Y is detected, N is no signal.
The 4th line:
OUT: 2160p60 / 192.168.3.166
Display the user-selected output format for Up/Down conversion; IP address.
Scroll Wheel button
Set FLOW 2 function: SDI/HDMI priority, output format, optical transceiver mode.
Operation method
Enter Setup menu:Press and hold the scroll wheel until it enters the setup menu.
Parameter settings:Scroll up to flip up, scroll down to flip down, press down to confirm selection (no need to hold for a long time, just release immediately after pressing)
04 Login Web UI
Open IE browser, type FLOW 2 IP address (OLED screen), and enter the login page, as shown below. Default User name and password are the same: admin
Note: The control PC or remote devices needs to be in the same network segment with FLOW 2.
05 Device information
Dashboard is FLOW 2 device information, contains the following information:
Running Time, Input HDMI source or SDI source, Video/Audio format.
CPU temperature, Memory usage.
Device name, Hardware version, Firmware version, MAC address, IP address, Local IP address, Disk space.
06 Network settings
Click [Network] to enter the network setting page, where you can set the IP address. There are two modes: automatic DHCP and manual.
DHCP:
In DHCP mode user does not need to set IP address/Subnet Mask/Gateway, just selects Auto, FLOW 2 will automatically reboot and get a new IP address assigned by the router.
Manual mode:
In manual mode, user can define FLOW 2 IP address freely.
Enter the correct IP address, Netmask, and gateway, and click [Manual] to take effect.
07 Control
In the control page, user can select video output format, SDI/HDMI Input priority selection, optical transmitter/Receiver and external audio embedded /Mixer control.
UpDown Conversion
User can select any format in the support format list, FLOW 2 outputs to the selected format, If select Auto, which will be the same format as the source input.
SDI/HDMI Input Priority (Input source preference) setting
When there are both SDI and HDMI signal inputs, the selected will be considered as the default priority input signal.
Optical Transmitter/Receiver setting
Optical transceiver can be setup as transmitting or receiving mode, and user can switch Transmit or Receive status by web UI or Scroll button.
Using Optical transceiver requires 2 devices which have this function (eg: two FLOW2, or one FLOW2 and one Studio 2), One is set to Transmitting and the other to receiving.
Both devices must use SCIENCE IMAGE Optical Module T1, with one silver pull ring and the other purple pull ring.SDI/HDMI UpDownCross conversion and Optical Transmitting can work simultaneously.
Audio Em-bedded and Mixing
The main audio volume is indicated from video source, and the Line IN audio volume indicates External Line-IN. Two audio volume can freely adjust and mix.
08 System settings

Reset login password
Change the login password, click [Apply] and the new password will take effect at the next login.
Firmware update
Click [Open Upgrade Page] and select Automatic Upgrade to update the file remotely.
Note: Please do not Power Down or close the upgrade page during the upgrading, otherwise, the system files may be damaged and the system will not start normally.
Restore default settings
Click the OneKey Recovery button on the web UI, FLOW 2 will restart and system will be restored to its original settings before use.
Device restart
Click the Remort Restart device button on the web UI, FLOW 2 will restart the system.
Firmware update
Press and Hold the FLOW 2 reset button on the front panel and Do Not Release, until system recovery info displayed on the 1st line, Then release the reset button. When ‘burning: 100’ is displayed on the 2nd line of the screen, the factory settings are restored, the process will take about 20 minutes and power on again.
Note: Please Do Not Power Off during the process!
09 FAQ
Q: Why FLOW 2 do not start?
A: Check whether the device power indicator (located on the right side of the shell) and OLED screen are on.
Q: Why can’t I access the web interface of the device?
A 1. Check if FLOW 2 and the computer are in the same network segment. If not, please modify to the same network segment.
2. Check whether FLOW 2 has same IP with another device in the same network segment, if so please
change the IP.
3. Check whether the network environment is good.

Note: Users can also change the FLOW2 status from Transmitter or Receiver (or Receiver to Transmitter) in the Web UI, reconnect the input and output devices, and realize the reverse optical transmission function.
